Israeli Defense Force Veterans Speak to UIUC Students

This past Tuesday two former Israeli Defense Force Soldiers spoke at Illini Chabad. The event was made possible by the organization B’Lev Echad, which works to empower, assist and mentor veterans through their transition from the Israeli Defense Force back into civilian life. Amit Zohar and Chen Shwartz, spoke about their experiences in the IDF. Chen was injured by a Hamas missile, but reminded students that veterans are people too. "I told the doctors as every nice Jewish boy does. I told him I wanted to call my mother."
